The idea of MyceliCup grew from the belief that there must be a way to eliminate single use plastics with something that doesn't harm our oceans and doesn't take decades to breakdown. After finding the technology from Ecovative Design, and with the properties of MycoComposite being suited for coffee cups, MyceliCup was born. 

 

With the misconception that the current coffee cups are recycled, and with bioplastics not being the answer because of special disposal requirements, something needed to be created that allows us to enjoy our coffee without damaging the planet. After all, we only have one, so we need to do our best to help it.

MyceliCup doesn't ask for the behaviours of single use to be changed, but instead gives a 100% compostable alternative in it's place.

Coffee cups are just the start, with the potential of what Ecovative Design's technology brings and with the creation of MyceliCup, it has proven that it can go on to replace many single use plastics, to reduce the pollution on our planet.
